  • When should I arrive for my appointment?

    Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your treatment. You will have time to check in, get changed, and relax in our lounge as you enjoy tea, water, and soothing music while you wait to be greeted by your therapist. If you are interested in using the sauna before your treatment, please arrive 30 minutes before your appointment start time. If you are a new client, we will ask you to fill out a brief form.

  • Why do I need a credit card to book an appointment?

    We require your first name, last name, phone number, email address, and a credit card to hold your appointment and for our cancellation policy. Your card will not be charged for the service at the time of booking. Please bring the form of payment you would like to use with you to your appointment. Please refer to our cancellation policy for any questions or concerns.

  • Do you offer services for children and minors?

    We love children, but we are here to concentrate on your well-being. We appreciate you making other arrangements for your children while you are receiving a spa therapy. You may not leave your child unaccompanied in the spa. Nine Stones Spa welcomes clients aged 18 and older.

  • Can I still come in for my appointment if I am not feeling well?

    If you have any cold, flu, or COVID symptoms, we kindly ask that you please call us to reschedule your appointment.

  • I have medical conditions. Will they prevent me from having a treatment?

    If you are unsure that a medical issue will affect your spa therapy, please discuss your particular condition with your primary care provider and with us before you make your appointment to ensure that you will get the maximum benefit from your visit. Please inform your service provider if you have had surgery in the 60 days prior to your appointment. We are not allowed to perform any massage within sixty (60) days of a surgical procedure on the same body part. For this purpose, a “surgical procedure” is any treatment that involves any form of general anesthetic, local anesthetic, or topical anesthetic.   • What if I am running late for my appointment?

    Please call the spa at (207) 772-8480 if you think you will arrive late for your appointment. We will do our best to accommodate you if you are running late, but out of respect for all of our clients, your treatment will end at the originally scheduled time.

  • How do I cancel my appointment?

    We respectfully ask that all cancellations be made a minimum of 24 hours prior to your appointment. You can cancel your appointment by calling us at (207) 772-8480 or by emailing the Front Desk at contact@ninestonesspa.com . Last-minute cancellations do not allow us the opportunity to fill that appointment. Therefore, same-day appointment cancellations will be charged half the cost of the services, allowing for emergency and illness exceptions. No-shows will be charged the full cost of the service. As a courtesy to other guests and our staff, if you arrive late to your service, your service will be shortened the amount of time you are tardy but you will be charged for the full service.

  • Do you have a no-show policy?

    A "No Show" is a client who does not call or email to cancel their appointment and does not come in for that appointment. "No shows" will be charged 100% of the treatment price, allowing for emergency and illness exceptions. You must still notify us as soon as possible if it is an emergency/illness. In the event your credit card on file is invalid, you will be unable to book any future appointments with us until payment for the missed appointment has been received.

  • Do you have an inclement weather policy?

    If the weather makes it unsafe for you to travel, we ask that you call or email to reschedule your appointment with as much notice as you can. If we decide to close the spa due to weather conditions and you have an appointment scheduled for that day, we will call or email you as soon as we've made the decision. There is no cancellation fee when an appointment has to be rescheduled due to unsafe weather conditions. We want everyone to remain as safe as possible throughout inclement weather.

  • Do you offer parking?

    You can visit our Parking page for a map of the area and a list of available nearby parking. We advise you leave ample time to locate parking, specifically during the summer months.

  • Is Tipping Customary?

    While tipping is left to your discretion, a standard gratuity for a spa therapy you enjoyed is 18 - 20%. You may leave gratuity via credit card or cash upon check out, or you may give your therapist gratuity in the therapy room.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, ApplePay cash, and local personal checks with proper identification. Of course, we also accept our Nine Stones Spa Gift Certificates! While spa services are not taxable, Maine state sales tax is added to retail purchases.

  • Do you offer gift certificates?

    Gift Certificates can be purchased for a dollar amount. Gift Certificates are non-refundable, but can be transferred to another person. They can be used towards the cost of services, gratuity, and retail products. Visit our Gift Certificate FAQ page for more information.

  • Do you have a return policy for retail products?

    Nine Stones Spa gladly accepts returns on unopened retail products in their original packaging within 30 days of the purchase date. A copy of your receipt is required at the time of the return and the refund will be made to the original form of payment. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you any type of refund or exchange.

    We will also accept returns on opened items, within 14 days of the original purchase. However, we cannot accept returned items if more than 50% of the product has been used. A copy of your receipt is required at the time of the return and a refund will be made to the original form of payment.

  • Can I book a time to use the infrared sauna?

    Our Infrared Saunas are only available as an amenity for clients receiving services. You can arrive up to 30 minutes prior to your appointment to use the sauna. For safety reasons, the sauna will be turned off one hour before closing time. Please see the front desk for closing time-related to a specific day. Please see the list of contraindications before using the sauna.

  • Can I get a massage if I'm pregnant?

    We do not massage in the first trimester, but once you have entered your second trimester, a prenatal massage is an amazing way to relieve lower back pain, ease tension and stress, and release endorphins that are good for you and the baby. You can have a facial anytime during your pregnancy and our expert estheticians will tailor the facial to use baby-safe products.

  • If I am uncomfortable taking off all of my clothes for a treatment, what should I do?

    We will provide a robe for you to change into prior to your service. Not all spa services require you to fully undress, therefore, you can wear any undergarments or clothing underneath your robe throughout the spa, and undress to your comfort level for your spa service.

  • Are your therapists licensed?

    All of our therapists are state-licensed massage therapists, licensed aestheticians, and/or licensed nail technicians. All have had extensive education and training in a variety of bodywork modalities. They work here at Nine Stones Spa because they embody our philosophies and principles. We are members of AMTA and are constantly adding to our knowledge through continuing education.

  • May I choose a specific therapist?

    When booking online we reserve the right to move appointments to other therapists if necessary. If you want to book with a specific therapist, please make sure you select their name after choosing your service or make a note under Special Requests. If you are unsure of a therapist’s name, please contact the Front Desk and they can look up your information.

  • Do you have a place to store my valuables while I have a treatment?

    Nine Stones Spa offers fully-appointed changing rooms and lockers for your convenience. As we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items, please avoid bringing in valuables.

  • Do you offer wifi for clients to use?

    We do not have wifi available to clients in the spa. Please help us preserve the peace and quiet of the Spa, and give yourself a little Digital Detox. Smartphone/cellphone use is prohibited in any area of the spa.

  • May I take photographs in the spa?

    In order to safeguard the privacy of our clients and the decorum of the Spa, photography of any kind in the Spa is strictly prohibited. This includes FaceTime or similar apps. Please set your smartphone in the "off" mode.

  • I placed an order online. When will my order ship?

    Orders will be shipped within 24 hours of receipt or on the next available business day. You will receive an email with tracking information once your order has shipped. We use USPS Priority Mail however, at this time, USPS can not guarantee delivery by a certain date.
