Cosmedix Chemical Peel Contraindications and Post-Treatment Care
Clients will not be permitted to use our Infrared Sauna before OR after their facial peel treatment.
Cosmedix Chemical Peels are formulated with antioxidants, higher proportions of L-Lactic Acid, and Fruit Enzymes, all of which work synergistically to produce an effective exfoliating treatment.
Cosmedix Chemical Peel Treatment Contraindications
• Pregnancy
• Allergy to Aspirin or Salicylic Acid sensitivity
• Broken skin
• Sunburned, inflamed, or irritated skin
• Use of any Glycolic Acid products, Retin-A, Differin, or Renova in the last 4 weeks
• Recent peel series within the past 8 weeks
• Use of Accutane within 12 months
• Current bacterial and/or viral infection (i.e. cold sores) (Herpes Simplex, Verruca)
• Facial waxing within 3 days of treatment
Cosmedix Chemical Peel Post-Treatment Care
Immediate Post Care Instructions:
• Skin may feel wind-burned or tight after treatment
• Minor Acne or Milia breakout may occur
• Use a gentle moisturizer as frequently as needed
• Use of a minimum SPF 30 for the next 10-14 days, or daily during a series is mandatory
Things to avoid:
48 Hours Post Treatment
• Hot tubs, saunas, or anything that can cause excessive sweating
• Use of AHA’s, BHA’s, Retinol, or exfoliants
1 - 5 Days Post Treatment:
• Waxing or use of depilatories in the area treated
10-14 Days Post Treatment:
• Avoid direct sunlight and/or tanning beds, use a minimum of SPF 30 when outdoors
• Laser Hair Reduction Treatments
